1. Meeting the Primary Requirements

Citizenship: To become the candidate of the Presidential Elections, you should be a natural born citizen of the United States of America. If you were born in another country with one parent a citizen of the United States when you born, then you are eligible to become the President of the United States. If you were born in another country with no parent an American citizen, then you are not eligible to become the President of the United States.

Minimum Age: Any person who is not yet 35 years of age, he/she cannot apply for the Presidential Elections in the United States.

Live in the US for at least 14 Years consecutive: You must has lived in the United States for at least fourteen years consecutive to be eligible as a candidate in the Presidential Elections.

Education: There is no particular education requirement to run for the Presidential Elections in the United States of America. However, having an advanced degree is added advantage because most of past presidents have had advanced degrees and experience.

2. Declare Candidacy & File Applications with Federal Election Commission

You must register with the Federal Election Commission once you (or persons/organization/committee acting on your behalf) receive contributions or make expenditures in excess of US$5,000. Within 15 days of reaching that US$5,000 threshold, you must file a Statement of Candidacy authorizing a principal campaign committee to raise and spend funds on your behalf. Within 10 days of that filing, your principal campaign committee must submit a Statement of Organization. Your campaign will thereafter report its receipts and disbursements on a regular basis.
